Target Coupons & Savings
Target (NYSE: TGT) is an American retail giant, headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Target has served hundreds of millions of customers since its 1962 debut. The company is impressively large, following closely behind Walmart. As of December 2013 Target operated at least 1916 retail locations in the United States alone. This number has greatly increased since Target’s expansion to Canada.
Target’s roots can be traced back to its first retail location in Roseville, Minnesota, which opened in 1962. George Dayton started Dayton Dry Goods Company in 1902. 60 years later the organization opened their first Target store – modeled as a discount version of their department stores. The company expanded rapidly, and halfway through the seventies Target’s annual sales have reached north of $1 billion. The yearly profits have gone up ever since – 2013 revenue was reported at a modest 72.6 billion dollars.
Target.com: online shopping experience
Like mentioned above Target has a Canadian subsidiary, and runs a Canadian website as well, but for the purposes of this article we will reference the American version.
When first visiting the Target web store you will notice that it is not as flashy as most other online retailers. There are no slideshows, no animations and no popup windows asking you to sign up for any mailing lists. You still have the option to, should you so choose, at the bottom of the page.
The landing page features all of the regular retail store categories, as well as Target’s own unique spotlight. This section shines a light on new products, favorite brands and more. This section also includes a direct link to the in-house coupon list.
The most interesting part of the spotlight is probably the Target Recipes section. This section features the most popular recipes, decided upon by the community. This section offers a very large selection of mouthwatering dishes, with instructions so easy to follow, that anyone could make them at home. Definitely worth stopping by after your online shopping spree.
It’s also worth mentioning that Target is currently offering free shipping on all orders. This means that both same day store pickups and direct doorstep deliveries are absolutely free for all customers. It seems that this offer is only seasonal, so make sure to get your online shopping done before the new year to maximize the savings.
Target: Saving more online
Target has a very large selection of coupons. This includes both online promo codes and the classic printable in-store coupons. To get access to these codes, check out the coupon section. The page features ~115 printable coupons and a dozen or so promo codes. These are always updated, so check back regularly.
Another way to get extra coupons and be first to know if there is an upcoming sale, is to sign up for the weekly email.
Additionally, Target runs a unique mobile savings platform called Cartwheel. Cartwheel is available both on the App Store and the Google Play Store, and it allows its users to save on hundreds of items without the need for printing any coupons, or entering any codes. This free app will save you both time and money while shopping at Target.
Finally to get you started with saving at Target online, here is a promo code for you to try out: save 30% on clothing, shoes and accessories by entering JOY30 at checkout.
